Andrew Meyers

partner

Andrew has a diversified experience working with small and medium-sized closely held businesses and their owners in a wide variety of industries that include dealerships, distributors, high-tech, manufacturing, real estate, food service and retail/wholesale.  He has experience working with all types of entity structures; however, much of his time is spent supporting pass-through businesses and their owners who file in multiple jurisdictions.

Prior to starting the firm, Andrew spent twelve years at other accounting firms in Portland, including a senior role at a large local firm where he spent 10 years.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Economics from Portland State University.

When not assisting clients, Andrew’s busy spending time with his family.  He and his wife, a fellow CPA, spend much of their free time traveling the world with their three kids.

Alla Meyers

partner

Alla has extensive experience with real estate owners and managers, real estate developers, brokers, hoteliers, restauranters, and private equity investment funds. She assists clients with specialized services such as entity formation, deal strategizing and cost segregation studies.

Alla also serves clients outside of real estate and hospitality, such as those in the professional service industry, high net-worth individuals, and highly compensated employees with RSUs and ISOs. Many of the clients she works with are closely held or family-owned business which require planning for both the company and the individual owners.

Prior to joining Backstop, Alla spent over seventeen years working at a large local public accounting firm in Portland in a senior roll. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Finance from Washington State University and is licensed in Oregon.

When Alla is not working with her clients she loves the outdoors, hiking, skiing and traveling.

Corinn Rone

director

Corinn has been practicing since 2003. She has experience in tax compliance and planning with high net worth individuals, rental real estate, business owners, family groups, pass-through entities, private foundations, trusts, and estates. She enjoys working with individuals and families to help them plan and grow their financial success, which includes mitigating tax liabilities and often complex tax planning.

Prior to joining Backstop, Corinn worked for large local public accounting firms in Portland, and was a lead in the tax department for a large financial planning/investment management company. She is a licensed CPA in Oregon and has a BA in Accounting from Linfield.

Corinn has a young family and is still working less than full-time for tax accounting standards. She enjoys planning warm vacations, investing in rental real estate, HIIT exercise, yoga, international travel, and time with friends and family.

Shawna Parrish

director

Shawna has over 18 years of tax and accounting experience having worked previously for a large locally owned accounting firm. Her expertise includes tax compliance and planning for real estate owners & developers, private equity investment funds, restaurants and breweries, family limited partnerships and high net worth individuals.

Shawna has a knack for solving puzzles and thinking outside the box. Her passion for numbers and problem-solving skills helps her clients by supporting their tax and accounting needs, allowing them to focus on what they are truly passionate about: their business and individual goals.

Shawna earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University and a Master of Accounting at University of Oregon. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf, gardening, and participating in a local bowling league.
